About Us
The Everyword Story
Everyword began not in a business plan, but in a simple Bible study. The year was 2022, and our founder, Steven Carr, was reading through the book of Job when he came across a verse that was shockingly funny out of context: “Then let my wife grind unto another, and let others bow down upon her.” Out of context, it was a wild statement. In context, it was a profound illustration of Job’s integrity. This single verse sparked an idea: what if we used these misunderstood, often overlooked parts of the Bible to get people to pay attention?
This moment was the beginning of Everyword. We found that the Bible is full of powerful, sometimes raw, verses that would never make it onto a Sunday school poster. These are the verses that make you stop and think—and it’s in that space of curiosity that the real conversation begins.
Our Mission: More Than Apparel
Our mission is to impact lives with the transforming power in every word of Scripture. We accomplish this in three ways:
To Bring Laughter
We believe God has a sense of humor, and so should we. Our apparel is designed to bring a little levity to serious topics and start a conversation with a smile.
To Teach Truth
We stand against twisting Scripture to fit a narrative. Our designs purposefully use verses out of context to illustrate the importance of knowing and living God’s Word in its proper meaning.
To Tell the Full Story
Every word of the Bible is useful. The verses on our clothing allow us to tell the greater stories that matter. Encouraging everyone to dig deeper into Scripture.
We are an unconventional company for a real world that needs an honest, direct conversation about faith. We don’t believe you need a perfect resume or a fancy degree to make a difference—just a passion for the truth and a love for people.
Meet the Founder
Steven J. Carr
Steven J. Carr founded Everyword in 2025. With a background in sales and technology, he has been an entrepreneur for over 20 years. Steven’s path is not a conventional one. He’s been asked to leave more than one church for not fitting the mold and openly shares that he has no formal theological education. What he does have is a relentless work ethic, a lot of passion, and a profound respect for the Bible, which he studies and teaches at every opportunity.
He and his wife, his high school sweetheart, have built their lives by faith, not by the world’s expectations. They started a business when they were told it was too risky and adopted children from different backgrounds because they believe a family is defined by love, not by race. This same belief—that a life of faith is bold and direct—is what drives Everyword.
